Chapters and boards have revision history. Open the chapter or board and choose **History**.

## Checkpoints

Changes create automatic checkpoints approximately once a minute. A checkpoint is a saved version, not a record of every keystroke.

When you want a clearly named milestone, enter a **Checkpoint name** and choose **Save checkpoint**. Wait until the current document is saved before making or restoring a checkpoint.

## Preview a version

Select a checkpoint to see a read-only preview. Selecting it does not change the current document. Nearby previews are prefetched, and revisiting an immutable revision can use its cached snapshot.

## Restore a version

Choose **Restore this revision**, read the confirmation, then choose **Confirm restore**. ImagineMate saves the current content as a new checkpoint before restoring the selected version. Later history is retained.

A restore starts a new document revision. Active editors may be asked to reopen so old changes cannot accidentally overwrite the restored content.

## Unsent writing during a restore

If your chapter had unsent changes from the old version, a recovered copy may be offered. **Download recovered writing** saves its text so you can compare it with the restored chapter and copy back what you want. Dismiss the recovered copy only when you no longer need it.

History applies to chapters and boards. It is not a complete undo system for every bible, metadata, or sharing change.
