ImagineMate is a workspace for developing story worlds and writing the stories set in them. Your **story bible** tracks people, places, events, relationships, and details. Your **books and chapters** hold the manuscript. **Boards** give you a visual space for ideas and references.

Learn how [worlds and navigation](/worlds) keep these areas connected.

You can edit the world yourself or talk through ideas with the built-in assistant. The assistant can organize those ideas into the bible; you stay in control of what becomes canon.

## Start here

1. [Create your first world](/getting-started).
2. [Build the story bible](/story-bible), or [talk through an idea](/chat).
3. [Create a book and write chapters](/books).
4. [Check for inconsistencies](/consistency) as the world grows.

## Ask for help in chat

Ask questions such as “How do I restore a chapter?” or “What is the difference between an idea and canon?” The assistant uses this guide to explain how ImagineMate works and can link to the relevant page. Product-help questions do not need to become facts in your fictional world.
