The story bible is the structured reference for your world. An **entry** represents a person, place, event, item, group, species, concept, language, era, or story. You can add custom types through the world's ontology.

## Create and find entries

Open **Bible** and choose **New entry**. Give it a type, name, and summary. Use the search field and type filters to narrow the list. Names and aliases help identify the same subject even when it has several names.

Open an entry to work on its details:

- **Name and aliases:** the names used for this subject.
- **Summary:** a short description of what it is and why it matters.
- **Properties:** recurring attributes, such as a character's role or a place's kind.
- **Facts:** individual details that should be easy to inspect or correct separately.
- **Relationships:** connections to other entries.
- **Time:** a world-time description and optional numeric start and end.
- **Open questions:** important gaps or unresolved decisions.
- **Media:** images and other files associated with the entry.

## Properties or facts?

Use a property for a stable attribute: `occupation: cartographer`. Use a fact for a specific statement: “Mara learned mapmaking from her grandmother.” Keep separate facts separate so you can change one without rewriting several unrelated details.

## Add and reuse custom properties

The **Properties** section accepts your own **Property name** and **Value**, such as “Elemental affinity” and “Fire.” Choose **Add property** to save it. Suggested names come from the entry type in this world, and names already used on the entry are left out of the suggestions.

Select **Suggest this property for other Characters in this world** (the type name changes with the entry) when you want that name to be offered on other entries of the same type. Only the property name is shared: each entry keeps its own value. It does not change properties in other worlds.

Leave that option off for a one-off detail on this entry. To change an existing value, edit the property above the add form rather than adding the same name again.

## Correcting and removing information

Use the controls beside a detail or relationship to edit or remove it. Mark an entry **retired** when you want to keep it as a discarded idea; deleting an entry is a separate, more permanent action. The entry's delete control requires a deliberate hold.

The assistant tries to reuse existing entries and may merge a proposed duplicate. Check names and aliases before asking it to create a second record for a person who may already exist.

## Open questions

Keep questions for decisions that affect the story. When you settle one, answer it directly or tell the assistant the decision. A question about your fictional world is different from a product-help question about using ImagineMate.
