ImagineMate user guide
Learn how to build a story world, write chapters, collaborate, and keep your story bible consistent in ImagineMate.
ImagineMate is a workspace for developing story worlds and writing the stories set in them. Your story bible tracks people, places, events, relationships, and details. Your books and chapters hold the manuscript. Boards give you a visual space for ideas and references.
Learn how worlds and navigation keep these areas connected.
You can edit the world yourself or talk through ideas with the built-in assistant. The assistant can organize those ideas into the bible; you stay in control of what becomes canon.
Start here
- Create your first world.
- Build the story bible, or talk through an idea.
- Create a book and write chapters.
- Check for inconsistencies as the world grows.
Find a guide
- Worldbuilding: entries, relationships, canon and ideas, timeline, and glossary.
- Writing: books, chapter editing, and history and restoration.
- Visual work: boards and media.
- Working together: sharing and roles, saving and offline access, and settings.
- Help: troubleshooting, current limits, and changelog.
The changelog groups release links by day in its sidebar, newest day first and links within each day running from newest to oldest release. Choose All releases to return to the full release list. On a small screen, open the navigation menu to browse the same dates.
Ask for help in chat
Ask questions such as “How do I restore a chapter?” or “What is the difference between an idea and canon?” The assistant uses this guide to explain how ImagineMate works and can link to the relevant page. Product-help questions do not need to become facts in your fictional world.
